Volunteer

Our strength is in our people and many of our visitors’ final comments about their experience refer to how much they enjoyed the company of our staff.

Our visitors confirm that it is not only the trams, the mine tunnels or the Chinese artefacts that makes their experience memorable ... it is also the personal interactions with our people because they are so passionate, friendly and generous with their time.

If you would like to help us make memories for our visitors, join us and become part of the story!

Become part of Bendigo's story with us

Would you like to meet new people, show off your city and be part of Bendigo's nostalgic story? Then join our passionate team!

All of our sites rely on volunteers to keep them up and running. The work of Bendigo Heritage Attractions could not be done without a dedicated team of volunteers.

Each of our sites have their own story and appeal to different interests, but the same sense of enthusiasm pervades at all of them and this is what quickly turns new volunteer recruits into passionate supporters.

In the words of our current volunteers ...

“The Bendigo Joss House Temple is a great place to volunteer because it is literally living history. Being the oldest operating Chinese house of worship of traditional design left in the nation means it is truly something special.” – Mikelle, Volunteer Joss House Temple Tour Guide

"I’m always meeting really interesting and friendly people, and it’s great to see their eyes light up when I add a bit more detail to the history behind the tram ride that they are enjoying." – Frank, Volunteer Tram Driver

"Working as a conductor, I get to meet a lot of different people and enjoy telling them about our community, the trams and other tourist attractions around Bendigo." - Des, Volunteer Conductor
