Volunteer Roles
We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities across our sites, including:

Tram Conductor
Assist passengers aboard Bendigo’s heritage trams and help share the story of Bendigo’s tramway history. -
Depot Tour Guide
Guide visitors through the Bendigo Tramways depot and workshop, explaining the fascinating history of the tram fleet and restoration work. -
Central Deborah Gold Mine Tour Guide
Lead engaging tours and share stories of Bendigo’s gold mining history. -
Archiving and Collections
Help preserve and organise historical materials, photographs, and artefacts that form part of Bendigo Heritage’s important collections.
Volunteer Requirements
To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for volunteers and visitors, volunteers are required to:
- Commit to a minimum of two shifts per fortnight
- Complete mandatory training, including Child Safety and Rail Safety requirements
- Comply with Bendigo Heritage policies and OH&S requirements
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check
